Considered by many as one of the greatest films of all-time, the 1941 classic, “Citizen Kane,” is a cinematic masterpiece. Directed by and starring Orson Welles, the film tells the story of Charles Foster Kane, a wealthy newspaper publisher whose dying words are famously “Rosebud.” With its groundbreaking cinematography, complex plot structure and performances by Welles and his co-stars, it’s a movie that has been studied and admired for decades.
So can you watch Citizen Kane on Netflix? Unfortunately, the answer is no.
At least not yet. While Netflix does offer plenty of classic movies for streaming, Citizen Kane is not currently available on the platform.
What makes this so surprising is that Netflix has established itself as a major source for classic films. The streaming giant has acquired rights to movies from major studios like Paramount Pictures, Universal Pictures and Warner Bros., as well as independent distributors like Criterion Collection and Janus Films.

Additionally there are several websites where you can watch Citizen Kane online for free (though we do not recommend doing so).
In conclusion, while you can’t currently watch Citizen Kane on Netflix, there are still plenty of ways to enjoy this classic film with just a few clicks of your mouse – or remote control!
