Does Netflix Have DS9?
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (DS9) is a beloved series within the Star Trek franchise that has been popular since its debut in 1993. The series follows the adventures of the crew of a space station located near a wormhole in the Gamma Quadrant. It is set in the 24th century, roughly forty years after the original series, and is seen as one of the most complex and groundbreaking installments in the franchise.
The show has been praised for its expansive storylines, character development, and thematic depth. Unfortunately, despite its popularity, DS9 is not currently available streaming on Netflix. This is due to Netflix having a licensing agreement with CBS All Access which allows them exclusive streaming rights to all current Star Trek series and content. This means that while you may be able to watch some older Star Trek shows on Netflix such as The Original Series or The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine will not be available on their platform until this agreement expires or changes.
There are still ways to watch DS9 online though if you don’t have access to CBS All Access or physical media copies of the show. Amazon Prime Video currently offers all seven seasons of DS9 for purchase in HD or SD formats as well as individual episodes for rent or purchase.
Hulu also offers full seasons for purchase but does not provide individual episode rentals at this time. There are also some other websites such as Vudu where you can rent or purchase individual episodes from season 7 if you want to catch up on what happened during that season without buying an entire season pass.
In conclusion, while fans of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine may be disappointed by its absence from Netflix’s library, there are still plenty of other options available if they want to watch this classic series again or experience it for the first time. With Amazon Prime Video and other services providing access to all seven seasons plus individual episodes for rent/purchase, there shouldn’t be any difficulty in catching up with Captain Sisko and his crew on their journey through space and time! So no, Netflix does not have DS9.
