Does Netflix Have Inheritance?

Netflix is an entertainment company that has become one of the world’s most successful streaming services. It has enabled viewers to access vast catalogues of films and TV shows, both new and old, in an effortless way. But how does Netflix treat inheritance?

Inheritance is the legal process of transferring property or assets from a deceased person to their beneficiaries (or heirs). As a company that deals with digital goods, does Netflix offer any type of inheritance?

The answer is yes, but it’s not as straightforward as you might think. Netflix does allow some users to share their subscription with family members after death.

The “Family Plan” allows up to four individuals to share an account and watch different content at the same time. If one of the members passes away, the other three are still able to use the account.

However, this only applies if the deceased member had set up their account as a “Family Plan” before passing away. If they had not done so previously, then unfortunately there is no way for their account to be transferred or shared with family members.

Netflix also offers limited access for estate executors who are tasked with settling a deceased user’s estate. These executors are able to access certain details about the user’s account such as billing information and payment history. They can also delete any remaining content from the user’s account.

Conclusion:

Netflix does offer some limited inheritance options for users who have set up their accounts as a Family Plan before passing away. Estate executors also have some access to a deceased user’s account in order to settle any remaining business associated with it. However, if no Family Plan was set up beforehand then unfortunately it is not possible for any family members or others to gain access or transfer ownership of a Netflix account after death.
