Does Netflix Have Lassie?

Netflix does not have the classic 1954 television series, Lassie. The series is owned by CBS and cannot be found on Netflix. While there are a few Lassie movies available to stream on Netflix, these are all more recent films that have been released in the last decade or so.

The original Lassie series was based on Eric Knight’s 1940 novel, Lassie Come-Home. It was adapted into a movie in 1943, and then the popular television show started airing in 1954.

The show starred an Australian Shepherd collie named Pal who played the beloved canine character Lassie. It ran for 19 seasons until 1971 and has since become an iconic show in American culture.

The show was so popular that it spawned several sequels and remakes over the years, including Lassie’s Great Adventure, Lassie: A New Beginning, Son of Lassie, and the 1994 remake of Lassie Come Home. However, none of these films or television shows can be found on Netflix as they are all owned by CBS.

Netflix does offer a few films with a similar theme to Lassie though. These include Benji, which follows a stray dog as he tries to help two children find their way home; as well as A Dog’s Way Home, which follows a loyal pet’s journey across hundreds of miles to find her owner; and Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey, which follows three pets who set off on an incredible adventure to find their way back home to their beloved owners.

In conclusion, while Netflix does not offer any of the classic Lassie films or television shows, there are still many canine-related films available for streaming that will bring joy to viewers who are looking for some family-friendly entertainment about loyal pets and their adventures.
