Spotify is one of the most popular streaming services with over 200 million users around the world. It has changed the way people listen to music, providing an easier and more convenient way to access music on demand. However, if you’ve decided that you no longer want to use Spotify, there are a few steps you can take to completely remove it from your device.
Uninstalling Spotify
The first step in removing Spotify is to uninstall it from your device. You can do this by following the instructions for your specific operating system or device:
- For Windows, open the Start menu and choose Settings > Apps > Apps & Features. Find Spotify in the list, select it, and then choose Uninstall.
- For Mac, open Finder and select Applications. Find Spotify in the list and drag it to the Trash.
- For iOS, open Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Find Spotify in the list and then choose Delete App.
- For Android, open your device’s Settings app > Apps & notifications > See all apps > Find Spotify in the list and then choose Uninstall.
Removing Your Account
Once you’ve uninstalled Spotify from your device, you’ll need to remove your account as well. To do this:
- Go to spotify.com/account/delete-account-confirm on any web browser.
- Log into your account using your username or email address and password.
- Choose Submit when prompted.
Cancelling Your Subscription
If you have a paid subscription to Spotify Premium or another service like Spotify Student or Family plan, you will need to cancel it before deleting your account. To do this:
- Log into your account at spotify.com/account/overview.
- Select Subscriptions from the left-hand menu.
- (Optional) If you have multiple subscriptions associated with different accounts, make sure that you’re logged into the correct one before cancelling.
- (Optional) If you want to keep a subscription but change its billing information or payment method, select Change Plan instead of Cancel Subscription.
