Batman and Robin has been a popular superhero duo since the 1940s. The duo has appeared in numerous comics, TV shows, and movies. The most popular iteration of Batman and Robin is undoubtedly the 1960s television series starring Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin.
The series was immensely successful and propelled the franchise to new heights of popularity. It ran for three seasons from 1966 to 1968 and spawned a spin-off movie in 1966. Despite its popularity, however, the series has never been available on Netflix.
This is somewhat surprising considering that Netflix has become a major player in streaming media over the last decade or so. It has acquired rights to many classic TV shows, including iconic shows such as Friends, Seinfeld, Breaking Bad, and The Office. So why not Batman and Robin?
The main reason appears to be that the rights to the show are still held by Warner Bros., which still produces new content based on the franchise today. As such, it is likely that Warner Bros. believes there is more value in keeping those rights for themselves rather than licensing them out to Netflix or other streaming services.
Another factor could be that Batman and Robin is not as widely popular today as it was when it first aired in 1966. While many people remember fondly watching Adam West’s campy take on Batman when they were kids, it doesn’t have quite the same level of appeal among younger generations who may never have seen it before.
In any case, while there may be some hope that Warner Bros will eventually decide to license out the rights to Netflix or another streaming service, for now at least it looks like fans of Batman and Robin are going to have to stick with watching reruns of Adam West’s classic series on cable TV or DVD/Blu-ray if they want their fix of this iconic superhero duo. Is Batman and Robin on Netflix? Unfortunately no; at this time the show’s rights are held by Warner Bros., who appear reluctant to license them out for streaming on Netflix or other services.
