Plot

Ruby (Emilia Jones) is a 17-year-old deaf girl living in a small fishing town with her family. Her father (Eugenio Derbez) is a fisherman and her mother (Marlee Matlin) runs the local fish market.

Ruby dreams of becoming a professional musician but is torn between that goal and helping out with the family business, which is struggling financially. She finds herself stuck between two worlds: the hearing world she was born into and the deaf community she longs to be part of.
