Is Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein on Netflix?

Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein is not currently available on Netflix. The novel, first published in 1818, has been a source of inspiration for many horror films and other works of literature. However, the novel itself is not available on any streaming services.

Frankenstein is often considered one of the most influential works in the horror genre and it has spawned countless adaptations since its original publication. The novel follows the story of Victor Frankenstein who, through his experiments and creation of a living creature, unleashes terror and chaos upon himself and those around him. It has been adapted numerous times for stage, television and film.

The most popular adaptation to date is arguably director Kenneth Branagh’s 1994 film starring Robert De Niro as the creature. Other notable adaptations include Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein (1994) starring Gary Oldman as the creature and Victor Frankenstein (2015) starring Daniel Radcliffe as Igor and James McAvoy as Victor Frankenstein. Unfortunately, none of these films are available on Netflix either.

Netflix does have quite a few horror films inspired by Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein that fans may enjoy such as I, Frankenstein (2014), Van Helsing (2004), Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (2009) and The Mummy Returns (2001). While these films may not be direct adaptations of Mary Shelley’s novel, they are certainly influenced by her work in some way or another.

In conclusion, Mary Shelley’s beloved classic novel “Frankenstein” is not currently available on Netflix but there are many films inspired by it that can be enjoyed instead.
