Is the King’s Speech on Netflix?

The King’s Speech is an Academy Award-winning historical drama film released in 2011, directed by Tom Hooper and written by David Seidler. The film tells the story of King George VI of Britain, his impromptu ascension to the throne and the speech therapist who helped him overcome his feared stammer. Starring Colin Firth, Geoffrey Rush, and Helena Bonham Carter as the leads, The King’s Speech has been a critical success, both commercially and critically.

The film follows George VI as he reluctantly takes on the role of king after his brother abdicates the throne. His wife Elizabeth (Bonham Carter) enlists the help of Lionel Logue (Rush), a speech therapist who helps George overcome his stammer.

The King’s Speech has been widely available since its release on DVD, Blu-Ray disc, digital download services such as iTunes, Amazon Video On Demand and other streaming services like Hulu Plus. Sadly however it is not currently available on Netflix streaming service. Netflix does have a number of other films starring Colin Firth available for streaming such as Love Actually (2003), A Single Man (2009) and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011).
