Is Top Gun: Maverick on Netflix?

Top Gun: Maverick is the highly anticipated sequel to the 1986 classic, Top Gun. The movie follows the story of Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, played by Tom Cruise, as he returns to military aviation after thirty-four years and navigates relationships with past and present generations of fighter pilots.

The film also stars Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, and Val Kilmer.

The movie was released in theaters on June 24th 2020 and is currently available to rent or buy on many streaming services such as Google Play, YouTube, and Amazon Prime Video. Unfortunately for Netflix users, Top Gun: Maverick is not available on the streaming platform. Netflix has had quite a few blockbuster movies this year such as Extraction and The Old Guard but sadly they did not pick up the rights to show Top Gun: Maverick.

It’s understandable if Netflix chose not to pick up the rights for the sequel due to its high production costs. Top Gun: Maverick had a reported budget of $200 million making it one of the most expensive movies ever made. On top of that, it’s likely that Paramount Pictures (the studio behind the film) wanted to focus on its own streaming service Paramount+ instead.

Conclusion:

Is Top Gun: Maverick on Netflix? Sadly no, it is not available on Netflix but can be rented or bought from other streaming services such as Google Play, YouTube, and Amazon Prime Video.
