Why Can’t I Play Spotify on Apple Watch?

For years, Apple has been the leader in the wearables market. With their Apple Watch, users can track their fitness, check notifications and even make purchases using Apple Pay.

But one thing that Apple Watch users have been wanting for a long time is the ability to listen to music on the device. Unfortunately, Spotify has yet to be supported on the Apple Watch.

Spotify is one of the most popular streaming services in the world, with over 200 million active users around the world. It would seem like a no-brainer for them to add support for such a popular device as the Apple Watch and give users another way to enjoy their favorite music on-the-go.

The main issue preventing Spotify from being available on the Apple Watch is likely due to a conflict between Apple and Spotify’s business models. Both companies offer subscription services that compete with each other, and it wouldn’t be reasonable for either company to give away access to their rival’s service without some kind of compensation. This sort of agreement would be difficult to come by as both companies are fiercely competitive.

Another potential issue could be technical limitations of the watch itself. The Apple Watch doesn’t have enough storage space or processing power to run a full version of Spotify, so any app made for it would have to be heavily stripped down or modified in order for it work properly.

Conclusion:

At this point in time, there’s no way for Spotify users to play songs on their Apple Watches due to conflicts between both companies’ business models and technical limitations of the watch itself. Until agreements can be made or changes are made with hardware capabilities, it’s unlikely that support will be added anytime soon.
