Why Won’t My Alexa Connect to Spotify?

It’s very common for people to experience difficulty connecting their Alexa device to Spotify. This is because Alexa devices require a specific set of instructions to be able to access the popular music streaming service. If you find yourself facing this issue, here are a few tips that might help you connect your Alexa device with Spotify.

Check Your Wi-Fi Network

The first step you should take is to make sure that the Wi-Fi network your Alexa device is connected to is working properly. If you are having difficulty connecting to Spotify, it could be due to an intermittent connection with the Wi-Fi network or a weak signal strength.

Enable the Required Skills

In order for your Alexa device to connect to Spotify, you must enable certain skills on the Amazon Alexa app. To do this, open up the app and go into Settings > Music & Media > Link New Service > Spotify. Once you have enabled these skills, try connecting your Alexa device again.

Check Your Account Settings

If you still can’t connect your Alexa device after enabling the required skills, make sure that your account settings are correct. Navigate back into Settings > Music & Media and ensure that all of the fields are filled in correctly with your Spotify information.

Unlink and Re-Link Your Accounts

If all else fails, try unlinking and re-linking your accounts. Go into Settings > Music & Media > Unlink Services > Spotify and follow the on-screen instructions.

Once this is done, repeat this process but select Link Services instead of Unlink Services.
