Will Ghostbusters: Afterlife Be on Netflix?

Ghostbusters: Afterlife is the highly anticipated fourth installment in the Ghostbusters series, directed by Jason Reitman and starring Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, and Paul Rudd. Since its announcement back in 2019, fans have been eagerly awaiting the film’s release.

Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, its theatrical debut has been delayed until 2021. But this doesn’t mean that fans will have to wait any longer to see the film; Ghostbusters: Afterlife is likely to be released on Netflix.

Netflix has become one of the leading streaming platforms in recent years. It is known for its vast library of movies and TV shows from around the world.

In addition to providing viewers with hours of entertainment, Netflix also has a keen eye for up-and-coming films and has acquired several blockbuster titles such as The Irishman, Roma and Marriage Story. Ghostbusters: Afterlife tells the story of a single mother and her two kids who move to a small town in Oklahoma. There they discover that their grandfather was one of the original Ghostbusters from the 1980s movies. With help from their new friends they must uncover what happened to their grandfather while also trying to unravel a mysterious apparition threatening their town.

The film features an all-star cast including Carrie Coon (Gone Girl), Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) and Mckenna Grace (Captain Marvel). These actors bring an exciting mix of comedy and drama that will surely draw viewers into this new adventure. Jason Reitman also returns as director after directing Up In The Air which earned him an Academy Award nomination.


Ghostbusters: Afterlife could very well be released on Netflix due to its impressive cast, exciting plotline and Netflix’s history of acquiring blockbuster films for streaming. Fans won’t have to wait for long for its theatrical debut as it is likely that it will be released on Netflix sometime in 2021.
